TEACHING PROS Dave Carroll, General Manager Dave is originally from Boston, MA. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Stonehill College. In 2004, Dave moved to Baltimore to pursue his Master of Arts in Teaching degree at The Johns Hopkins University. Dave worked as an elementary school teacher in Baltimore City for ten years. Prior to teaching, Dave served as a Prevention Specialist for the Baltimore County Department of Health and as a Wellness Coordinator at The Ohio State University. Dave has experience providing tennis instruction to individuals and groups of all skill levels and abilities. He has coached middle and high school tennis teams and has coordinated a summer camp. He is also a former Division I college tennis player and former number one ranked player in the Mid Atlantic region. Dave is extremely excited to work with the amazing team at CTC. He looks forward to continuing to build relationships with students, families, and staff and to instill a life-long love of the game of tennis. Dylan Perales Coach Dylan was born in Baltimore, MD. He moved to Florida at the age of 3. While in FL, he discovered his interest in tennis and has been a huge fan ever since. Twenty years later, Dylan finds himself back in MD at the Carroll Tennis Center. He enjoys teaching students a game that can be played at any level at any age. Rieck Foelber Coach Rieck was the Director of Racket Sports at the Roland Run Club for 39 years. Rieck was fortunate enough to have current CTC General Manager, Dave Carroll, as his Head Assistant for two summers. Rieck has many Mid-Atlantic and state titles to his credit and has been ranked #1 in both singles and doubles. Rieck was selected as a Baltimore area training pro working with elite junior players. Rieck was the Mid-Atlantic 65 and over singles champion in 2016 and 2017. He has participated in 6 national USTA Championships over the past 12 years. He was inducted into the Dulaney High School Hall of Fame in 2011. Rieck still holds the all time career strikeout record as a pitcher for High Point University. Cardio Tennis, Doubles Strategy sessions, working with USTA teams, and private lessons are his passion. Shawn Conyers Coach Shawn is a USPTA certified teaching professional, who also holds a USPTA 10 and under specialty degree. His 27 years of teaching has afforded him exposure to many aspects of the profession which includes tennis directing, USTA tournament directing, tennis programming, USTA team management (Adult & Junior), adult social events, as well as USTA in school and after school tennis programs. |
