Dave Carroll, Director of Tennis
Dave is originally from Boston, MA. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Stonehill College. In 2004, Dave moved to Baltimore to pursue his Master of Arts in Teaching degree at The Johns Hopkins University. Dave worked as an elementary school teacher in Baltimore City for ten years. Prior to teaching, Dave served as a Prevention Specialist for the Baltimore County Department of Health and as a Wellness Coordinator at The Ohio State University. Dave has experience providing tennis instruction to individuals and groups of all skill levels and abilities. He has coached middle and high school tennis teams and has coordinated a summer camp. He is also a former Division I college tennis player and former number one ranked player in the Mid Atlantic region. Dave is extremely excited to work with the amazing team at CTC. He looks forward to continuing to build relationships with students, families, and staff and to instill a life-long love of the game of tennis.
Will Giles is currently the graduate assistant for the tennis team at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. Will played at McDaniel for four years. He was the #1 seed sophomore through senior year. Will received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and is now pursuing his Masters in Human Resources Management. Over the last 6 summers, Will has taught tennis lessons in his hometown of Cumberland, MD, stressing the FUNdamentals of the game. Will has experience working with all age groups, but particularly loves working with kids. He enjoys seeing their progress on and off court. Tennis is a game close to Will's heart. He is excited to share his passion with Carroll Tennis Center's community.
Kirstyn is a tennis instructor and front desk operator at Carroll Tennis Center. She is originally from Bowie, MD. She currently attends Stevenson University in Owings Mills, MD. She will be graduating this upcoming May with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Kirstyn has experience in providing tennis instruction to elementary through high school students, ranging from beginner to advanced abilities. Kirstyn has experience competing in USTA-sanctioned matches. In 2015, she played on USTA 3.0 Over 18 Women’s Team the "Vicious Vollies". With the Vicious Vollies, she competed in the USTA 3.0 Maryland Sectionals and Regional tournaments, where she went to the Nationals tournament in Tucson, AZ. Kirstyn currently plays on Stevenson University’s Women’s Tennis Team as a singles and doubles player. She also provided assistance in coaching Stevenson’s Women’s Team in 2016. Kirstyn enjoys working at CTC as an instructor and front desk operator. She looks forward to continue aiding her colleagues in fostering a positive environment and providing the fundamental skills needed for a lifetime of tennis enjoyment.
Megan is a sophomore at Stevenson University where she is striving to earn a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Megan has always had a passion for science, helping others, and tennis! At Stevenson, she is a member of the Varsity Women's Tennis T, where she plays 3rd singles and 2nd doubles. Megan has played tennis since she was 10 years old. She has encouraged and shared her love for tennis to others in her community.
Before working at CTC, Megan taught tennis to kids ages 6-16 for 2 years at Forest Hill Recreation's Summer Program in Forest Hill, MD. Megan has built long-lasting relationships with many of her players and continues to be enthusiastic in developing players of all ages and abilities, helping them reach their tennis goals.
Dylan was born in Baltimore, MD. He moved to Florida at the age of 3. While in FL, he discovered his interest in tennis and has been a huge fan ever since. Twenty years later, Dylan finds himself back in MD at the Carroll Tennis Center. He enjoys teaching students a game that can be played at any level at any age.
